Who we are and what we do
DH Painter & Decorator is a painter and decorator based in Northampton, run by Dean, with over 30 years in the trade. We paint and decorate homes and businesses across Northampton and nearby towns, inside and out, and every job starts with a free visit and a written quote.
Most of our work is interior painting and exterior painting: anything from a single bedroom to a whole four-bedroom house, and from roughcast bungalows to fascias and soffits and hardwood gates. We also hang wallpaper and lining paper and decorate shops, offices and rental properties.

Most of our work comes from recommendations and returning customers. That comes down to doing the unglamorous parts properly: filling, sanding, caulking and priming before any top coat goes on, protecting the house while we work, and leaving it clean at the end of each day.

Dean has been painting and decorating for over three decades, so he knows how render, old plaster, new plaster and hardwood behave, and which paint suits each.
Preparation first
A finish only lasts as long as the surface under it. Cracks are filled, flaking paint is scraped back, bare wood and new plaster are primed, and joints are caulked before painting starts.
Your home protected
Floors are covered with dust sheets, furniture is moved or wrapped, and we clear up at the end of each day so the house stays liveable while the work is done.
What we paint and decorate
Inside the house, we paint walls, ceilings and woodwork, decorate hallways and stairwells, hang wallpaper and paint new plaster. Outside, we repaint render, roughcast and masonry, fascias and soffits, windows, doors, gates and fences.
We also decorate shopfronts, offices and rental properties for landlords and letting agents.
