Dean paints commercial premises in and around Bellinge, about 3.5 miles east of Northampton town centre. On the estate that means the Fieldmill Square local centre, the community buildings, the pub and the school campus. Just south of the A45, it also covers the units at Crow Lane Industrial Estate.
The handful of commercial buildings on the estate
Bellinge was planned as a residential estate, so its commercial premises are few and tightly grouped. The Fieldmill Square local centre holds a Co-op Food, the Eastern Balti and Treasure Inn restaurants, Bellinge Community Centre and Bellinge Community House. The Deers Leap pub is on Fieldmill Road, and Ecton Brook Primary School has its Bellinge Campus on the same road. Each of these is used by the whole estate, so a repaint here is planned around the people using the building and its opening pattern.
Inside, the buildings need different things. A food shop needs aisles and walls repainted without dust near open stock. Restaurant kitchens and dining rooms need washable finishes that tolerate steam and regular cleaning. The community buildings and school campus have halls, corridors and toilets used by large numbers of people, where scrubbable wall paints and tough door and frame finishes matter more than colour trends. Pub interiors fall somewhere in between.
Fieldmill Square: working beside footpaths and trading hours

The local centre sits within the estate’s Radburn layout, with footways such as Fieldmill Walk and Fieldmill Square running through it. People pass the frontages constantly on foot, so any ladder, tower or dust sheet on the outside has to leave the walking route open and be guarded or taped off while it is in use. Inside, we can split work into sections, close off one area at a time and fit the noisier stages around quieter trading periods agreed with you in advance. External fascias and signboards on the parade are covered in more detail on our shopfront painting page.
No conservation area covers Bellinge, so there are no heritage constraints on the colours or materials used on these buildings. Any rules come from the landlord, a franchise brand guide or the organisation running the building, and we work to whichever applies.
Trade units at Crow Lane Industrial Estate
Across the A45 Nene Valley Way, just south of the estate, Crow Lane Industrial Estate has trade counters and depots on Hartburn Close, Jackdaw Close and Ravens Way. They include Wolseley, Midshires Electrical & Lighting, Booker Wholesale, Roadking, Thunderpole and a Royal Mail delivery office. Units like these usually need a different kind of work from the Fieldmill Square buildings:
- Trade counter and showroom areas repainted between opening times so the counter can keep serving.
- Office and staff welfare rooms refreshed in hard-wearing emulsion.
- External doors, frames and metalwork cleaned and recoated, with traffic film from the A45 washed off first.
- Block or rendered walls in warehouse spaces painted in stages around racking and deliveries.
How we price and plan a commercial job here

Every commercial quote starts with a visit to see the premises during normal use, so we can understand deliveries, customer flow and which areas cannot close. We then set out a sequence of areas and days in writing. For a food outlet that might mean dining areas first and the kitchen last; for a community building it usually means working around its weekly bookings. Paint choice is confirmed at the same stage, including low-odour products where people will be eating or gathering nearby while the work goes on. The main commercial painting page explains how we work with businesses across Northampton, and our Bellinge area page covers the homes on the estate.
